These are timbers that have been a building material for thousands and thousands of years and as such it has been harvested and utilised through the ages as it was seen as a seemingly endless natural resource.

Forests accounted for approximately half of the earth land area, yet today only one fifth of the original forests remain, the rest having been destroyed by years of cultivation. Sustainable-Furniture UK would like to bring to you within this range existing natural timber by re-using reclaimed timber and converting it into beautiful pieces of furniture. We have done our best to ensure that all of our timber has been sourced in a socially responsible manner by reusing timber from old Dutch Colonial houses, old railway sleepers, government buildings and warehouses, typically the timber is 70-90 years old. These timbers can come in a rustic finish or a new more contemporary finish.
