The material used for manufacturing these mirrors has been derived from left over pieces of teak root from larger teak root products like teat root dining tables.  The original root is sourced from the ground of previously abandoned teak forest and have been excavated by hand (usually 6/8 labourers per root) thereby clearing and preparing ground enabling fresh plantation.  Without the extraction of these huge teak roots, the trees of which were felled mostly over 30 years ago, the land would be abandoned, rendering it expensive and impractical for further plantation.  This collection of mirrors come in their natural state - if you are looking for a driftwood style mirror these are a good visual compromise but also comes with the economic and environmental passion attached to it.   A great sustainable statement.
